Downeast Maine •
We develop renewable energy projects that are rooted in the bold, rocky Maine coast and are built from the ground up to benefit the communities they call home.
Who We Are
Based in the heart of Maine’s Washington County, Bealenergy was founded on a simple premise: that clean, community-centric energy benefits everyone it serves, not just distant investors.
We work alongside local communities from the earliest stages, ensuring every project reflects what neighbors actually need and want.
We measure success by the trust of the communities we work with, not the volume of projects we close. Every decision is made with care for neighbors — present and future.
To us, clean energy means more than just carbon neutrality. We design around the land: routing infrastructure to avoid wetlands, preserving forested buffers, specifying recyclable materials, and sourcing locally to minimize our overall footprint.
Every project generates power with no operational emissions. That’s not a marketing claim — it’s a constraint that shapes everything we build.
Our Work
Our work draws on the full spectrum of Downeast Maine’s renewable resources: our primary focus today is community wind development, harvesting the consistent winds of the Gulf of Maine; we plan to bring our local, community-focused approach to solar development in the future; and we look forward to exploring hydrokinetic energy as the technology matures. We make the host community the centerpiece of each project, as we fulfill our mission to deliver emission-free power at prices that stand on their own merits.
An active wind energy development proudly located in “Jonesport, USA” that will provide coastal Washington County communities with clean, competitively priced power generated from Maine’s exceptional coastal wind resources.
The Gulf of Maine stirs up some of the finest wind on the Eastern Seaboard. We are excited to find future ways to put that bounty to work for local Maine communities — clean, cost-competitive, and close to home.
PlannedSolar generation peaks during Maine’s long summer days — right about when the wild blueberries are turning blue. We see significant opportunity in bringing community-scale solar to the Downeast region.
Research PhaseMaine sits at the edge of some of North America’s most powerful tidal flows. We are watching this emerging technology closely as it reaches commercial viability, while ensuring that lobstermen and the broader Downeast fishing community remain unaffected.
